Process differences:
Stainless steel welded pipe: welded by steel plate or steel strip after curling and forming by the unit and mold. Different welding methods can be divided into straight seam stainless steel welded pipe, spiral stainless steel welded pipe. Stainless steel welded pipe has high production efficiency and many varieties and specifications. And the welded pipe has avoided multiple heating processing many times during processing, and the production process is more environmentally friendly.
Stainless steel seamless pipe: After heating the round pipe blank, it is made by cold rolling, cold drawing or hot extrusion production process. The thicker the wall thickness of the product, the more economical and practical it is, and the thinner the wall thickness, the greater its processing cost
Differences in appearance:
Stainless steel welded pipe: due to the use of plate cold forming process, the steel pipe has high precision, uniform wall thickness, high brightness of the inner and outer surface of the pipe (the surface brightness of the steel pipe determined by the surface grade of the steel plate), can be arbitrarily fixed, rich in size specifications, and has outstanding advantages in large diameter and thin wall.
Stainless steel seamless pipe: steel pipe has low precision, uneven wall thickness, limited by processing methods, its inner and outer surface brightness is low, high sizing cost, stainless steel seamless pipe inner and outer surface is easy to have pockmarks, black spots and not easy to remove. Usually the walls of the tube are thicker.

Performance differences:
In terms of use habits, seamless pipes are mostly used in projects with performance requirements such as corrosion resistance and pressure resistance and high temperature resistance because of their good metal structure uniformity, such as boilers, power stations, pressure vessels and other traditional enterprises.
Since the 30s of the 20th century, with the rapid development of high-quality strip continuous rolling production and the advancement of welding and inspection technology, the quality of welds has been continuously improved, the varieties and specifications of welded steel pipes have increased, and the application scenarios of stainless steel welded pipes have expanded from decorative pipes, product pipes and low-pressure fluid pipes to nuclear power equipment, high-pressure pipelines, special material fluids, medical treatment, healthy drinking water and other different industries.
Price difference:
Seamless pipe is more complicated in the production process, and its price is more expensive than stainless steel welded pipe.
Differences in application:
Stainless steel welded pipe: with its good surface effect, commonly used in decorative pipes, prop pipes, product pipes, mainly used to transport water, oil, gas, air, and heating hot water or steam and other general lower pressure fluids.
Stainless steel seamless pipe: with its good corrosion resistance and pressure resistance and high temperature resistance, it is commonly used in engineering and large-scale equipment to transport fluid pipelines, and can also be used for high temperature and high pressure conveying fluid headers and pipelines on power stations and nuclear power plant boilers.
